Doug Campbell
Foundation President
Educated in Montreal, Doug Campbell began his professional career with Scouts Canada, focusing on youth engagement, volunteer recruitment, event planning, and leadership training. He later served as Vice President for Western Canada, where he was responsible for asset management, manpower coordination, and foundation development. After retiring in 2003, he continued contributing to the nonprofit sector by supporting community organizations in management and leadership roles.
Volunteering has been a lifelong commitment, and he has seen firsthand the vital role it plays in delivering essential programs and services. Joining the St. Albert Foundation allowed him to help others embrace philanthropy by building endowments that support local, volunteer-driven initiatives.
With over 55 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and governance, Doug brings a strong understanding of how to grow and sustain charitable organizations. He knows what motivates donors and enjoys using his skills to help them create meaningful, lasting impact.
Since moving to St. Albert in 1993, Doug has been deeply engaged in the community—starting with the local Rotary Club and expanding into leadership roles with youth, arts, and charitable groups. These connections have allowed him to collaborate with diverse partners and help address community needs through teamwork and innovation.
Being part of the Foundation continues his lifelong journey of service, helping build a stronger, more caring community for all.
