This award was established in (2010) by the Charrois Family in memory of Louis Chauvet who, in 1984, lost his life due to a tragic motorcycle accident. The award exists to honor a grade 8 or 9 student enrolled in the Legal School.  The successful recipients exemplify the traits shared by Louis: hard worker, studious, compassionate and community minded.  

The selection of the successful recipient each year is made by the Chauvet and Charrois families.
