Stephen Khan
Foundation Vice President
Stephen Khan’s roots in St. Albert run deep. His family moved to the community in 1973, just in time for him to start Grade 2. He completed his K–12 education at Paul Kane High School and later graduated from the University of Alberta, where he also played for the Varsity Volleyball Team.
Stephen and his wife—whom he first met in junior high—have called St. Albert home for decades, raising two children and giving back through extensive community involvement. He has coached local youth in baseball, hockey, soccer, and volleyball, and has served on several nonprofit boards.
Professionally, Stephen spent 24 years growing a small software company into one of Canada’s leading providers of school management software, with clients across North America. He led the company through significant growth before its sale in 2010.
From 2012 to 2015, Stephen proudly served as the MLA for St. Albert and held Cabinet roles including Minister of Enterprise and Advanced Education and Minister of Service Alberta. His time in government gave him a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector and its vital role in supporting community well-being.
Today, Stephen continues to serve his community through his work with the St. Albert Sturgeon Community Foundation, the St. Albert Food Bank, and the St. Albert Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee. His passion for community, policy, and philanthropy drives his ongoing commitment to making this region an even better place to live.
